Early Life and Education
Femi Okunuga was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, where he developed a deep love for God and music from a very young age. Growing up in a Christian home, Femi was actively involved in church choirs and worship teams, where his talent for singing and leading worship became evident.
He hails from Ogun State and completed his primary and secondary education in Lagos before obtaining a degree in Chemistry from the University of Lagos (UNILAG). However, his calling in music ministry soon took center stage, as he discovered that his purpose was to lead people into deep encounters with God through worship.
Music Career
Femi Okunuga officially began his gospel music career in the early 2010s and quickly became known for his soul-stirring voice, heartfelt lyrics, and spirit-filled worship. His songs carry a message of surrender, intimacy, and total dependence on God.
In 2012, he released his debut single, “Open Up the Heavens,” which gained massive attention within the gospel community. His breakthrough, however, came with the release of “Only You,” a powerful worship song that drew listeners closer to God and established him as a genuine worship voice in Nigeria.
